Is your child interested in hockey, figure skating, or simply learning how to skate for fun? No matter the reason, there’s a place for them at our Intro to Skating Camp led by the experienced coaches of the Sartell Figure Skating Club (SFSC). Skaters will learn skating basics such as how to fall safely, get back up, and move confidently on the ice. Skaters should plan to bring their own skates or to rent hockey skates from the Scheels Athletic Complex. SFSC has a limited number of skates that can be borrowed on a first come first served basis. Chess embodies Art, Science and Sport. Challenge Yourself, Meet New Friends, Reduce Stress and Learn Strategy and Pattern Recognition. The class will be taught by Mr. Long Chen who has placed in the top 3 in Chess tournaments in Laredo TX, St. Cloud MN and Berlin Germany since age nine. His current USCF regular rating is 1965. Each Chess Session is 1 hour long. The first 45 minutes are used to teach the fundamentals, tactics and chess puzzles. The final 15 minutes is reserved for casual play and/or discussion. Through martial arts training, children build confidence and become less likely to be targeted for bullying in the first place.
